Leon “Buddy” Resmondo, started Resmondo Boat Works Inc. on Palmetto Creek in Perdido Bay in 1956 with a small pole shed. Today, the boat design and repair enterprise stands on the same spot on the creek with a huge, three-story-tall workshop and loading area on the water’s edge. Buddy has since retired but still crafts his wooden boats.

Resmondo Boat Works continues on with boat builders, Joey and Ronnie Resmondo, Buddy's sons. Specializing In Fiberglass and Wooden Boat Repair and Painting and Engine Re-Power Services, Resmondo Boat Works is equipped with a Marine Railway and can handle most any size vessel.
